Former Harrods purchasing director Paul O’Shaughnessy has moved to restaurant group D&D, where he will lead the company’s buying activities.

At Harrods he oversaw the buying strategy for its restaurants and retail business. Previously he held a number of senior purchasing roles within various major retail and restaurant groups including Safeway, Whitbread and BHS.

O’Shaughnessy, who will take on the mantle of purchasing director at D&D, is one of three new directors to join the company.

Sarah Jackson has also joined as people director from the Maybourne Hotel Group, while Michael Farquhar has moved across from the Cé La Vi Group as the company’s new operations director.

All three directors will report into Toby Harris, D&D’s Chief Operating Officer.

“These appointments have been made in order to further strengthen D&D’s management team ahead of some significant expansion planned for 2017 and beyond,” says Des Gunewardena, chairman and CEO of D&D London. “With five new restaurant launches confirmed for 2017 and a number of others in the pipeline we are very positive about the prospects for D&D’s business both in the UK and overseas.”

D&D owns and operates restaurants in London, Leeds, Paris, New York and Tokyo and ALSO the 80 bedroom South Place Hotel in London.
